Preparation and Characterization of CA/CeO2 Composite Nanofibers

Cellulose acetate/ceria composite nanofibers were prepared via the electrospinning technique. The composite nanofibers were characterized by means of scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction and UV-vis absorption. The X-ray diffraction patterns revealed that the particles on Cellulose acetate fibers were facecentered cubic fluorite-type CeO2. Scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy demonstrated that CeO2 nanoparticles was successfully doped into CA polymer and well dispersed along the fibers overall. Moreover, due to the existence of CeO2,the composite nanofibers showed strong UV absorption properties.
