Removal of Indoor Ammonia with Fe (Ⅲ)-modified PAN Fiber Complexes
Fe (Ⅲ)-amidoximated PAN fiber complexes were prepared with amidoximated PAN fibers and ferric chloride and used for removing indoor ammonia from air stream in a specifically designed catalytic system. Some important effecting factors such as the dosage and Fe content of Fe (Ⅲ)-amidoximated PAN fiber complex, the initial concentration of ammonia and gas flow rate were investigated with respect to removal efficiency of ammonia. The results indicated that Fe (Ⅲ)-amidoximated PAN fiber complex was used as a catalyst for the decomposition of indoor ammonia at room temperature. Increasing the dosage and Fe content of Fe (Ⅲ)-amidoximated PAN fiber complex could significantly enhance the removal of ammonia from air stream. Higher initial concentration of ammonia and gas flow rate limited the indoor ammonia decomposition.
