Preparation of Catalytic Activated Carbon Fiber and Its Catalytic Oxidation Performance to 4-nitrophenol
A novel catalytic activated carbon fiber (ACF-FePcS) was prepared by immobilizing highly active iron tetrasulfophthalocyanine (FePcS) onto the ethylenediamine-modified ACF. This new catalytic fiber was investigated in the degradation of 4- nitrophenol (4-NP) in the presence of H2O2. The results showed that the removal efficiency of 4-NP reached more than 90% in 4 h at 25℃,and it still possessed a good catalytic behavior over a wide range of pH. The addition of anionic surfactant could reduce the treatment effect by retarding the absorption of 4-NP onto ACF-FePcS. Thus, the performance of ACF-FePcS was related with its adsorption rate, exhibiting the process of enrichment and in-situ catalytic degradation. Furthermore, experiment of adding isopropanol as radical scavenging agent suggested that -OH played a key role in the degradation of 4-NP by ACF-FePcS/H2O2 system.
