Experimental Study of the High Temperature Resistant Filtration Materials Bonding by of Hydroentanglement Technique
Hydroentanglement is a versatile process for bonding loose arrays of fibers or enhancing fabrics by fine, closely spaced, high velocity water jets. This paper studies the effect of hydroentangling process parameter on the properties of high temperature filtration materials made from PPS and P-84 fibers and woven fabrics by experimental measures. Different hydroentangling process with the pressure from 120 to 200bar and the pass number from 2 to 8 are tested. The experimental results 160bar and 6 passes are critical values for hydroentangling pressure and pass number not only for tensile strength and elongation but also for pore distribution. The results also indicated that the 140bar and 6 passes is the most proper process parameters for filtration efficiency of the fabric used in this study.
