Study on the Intensity of Joints for the Textile Geogrids Manufactured with PET High-performance Yarn

In this article,the effects of the content of the PVC coating,the number of the ribs and the joints on the mechanical properties of the textile geogrids manufactured with PET high-performance yarn were studied. It was found that when the PVC coating content was less than 60 wt%,not only the strength of geogrid in warp direction but also that in weft direction increased and the anisotropic mechanical properties was smaller with increasing the PVC coating content. However,when the PVC coating content was more than 60 wt%,the strength of geogrid showed unchanged and the anisotropic mechanical properties were even smaller. Due to the rib structure with the firming yarn in warp direction,the strength of joints was higher than that in weft direction,and the anisotropic become significantly with increasing the number of joints for textile geogrid.
