Synthesis of Nitrogen/phosphorus/silicon Composite Flame Retardant and Its Charring Properties in Polyester
A new charring agent and flame retardant was first designed and synthesized by using 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa10-phosphaphenanthrene 10-oxide (DOPO) and KH560 with triphenylphosphine as catalyst. A transparent nitrogen/phosphorus/silicon flame retardant resin was then obtained by combination of Benzoguanamine with the product of DOPO and KH560 under 180℃,and the reaction product was investigated by FTIR. By blending this nitrogen/phosphorus/silicon flame retardant resin with polyester,a flame retardant and anti-dripping polyester was obtained, and the flame retarding performance, thermal and charring properties of this polyester were characterized by LOI,TG,SEM and EDS.
