The Tearing Strength of Plain Woven Fabric with the High Strength

The plain-woven fabric with the equal density in warp and weft is used in skeleton material for composite products. Some fabrics with equal warp and weft density made of Aramid 1313 were designed and woven on the ASL2000 rapier loom. Tearing test of single rip method was carried out. Experimental results show that the tearing strength of fabric with high strength is inversely proportional to warp and weft density and yarns are slippaged,gathered and pulled out throughout the tearing process. It will help to choose the skeleton material for composite products and optimize composite process.
