Observation and Modeling of the Microstructure of Heavyweight Hydroentangling Nonwoven Fabrics

The structure of the hydroentangling nonwoven fabrics is a key characteristic parameter which determines other properties of the fabrics. While there exists many available studies on the structure of different hydroentangling nonwoven fabrics,a universal model has not been studied well,hi this work,we present a novel model of the heavyweight hydroentangling nonwoven fabrics based on the microstructure observation of the fabrics by using SEM and X-ray tomography techniques. This new model is useful to study the entangling mechanism of fibers during the hydroentangling process and the mechanical properties of the hydroentangling nonwoven fabrics.
