Effect of Bending Stiffness on Drape of Soft Weft-Knitted Fabric
Drape is one of the most important properties that play essential part in the appearance of fabrics. It has very close relationship with bending stiffness. But very little literature is about the effect of bending stiffness on drape of knitted fabric. In this paper,eighteen soft weft-knitted fabrics were chosen. After testing their drapeability and bending stiffness,correlation and regression were introduced to explain the interrelation of them. From our research,it had been found that the course wise B had much higher correlation coefficient with fabric drape than wale wise B did,except L0. i.e. course wise B had played more important part in the drape of knitted fabric,such as F,Ac and T. A soft weftknitted fabric with larger course wise B would have larger F,Ac and T.
