Effect of Cationic Gemini Surfactant on Dyeing Behavior of Disperse Dyes in PLA Fiber
Different ion kinds of surfactants were selected to improve the dyeing property of Poly (lactic acid) (PLA) fiber dyed with disperse dyes. The dye up-take and color depth in the presence of twocationic Gemini surfactants (D821 and D1021) were significantly larger than those of the othersurfactants. The results showed that both D821 and D1021 had abilities to improve the solubility ofdisperse dyes in the dye bath and had capacities of stronger adsorption on PLA fiber, which werebeneficial to shift more disperse dyes to PLA fiber from the dye bath. It could be concluded that the twokinds of cationic Gemini surfactants could be used to improve dye up-take of disperse dyes on PLA.
