Preparation of Wool Protein Powder and Improvement of Ultraviolet Protective of Bamboo Fabric
In this study, wool protein powder was prepared by method of zinc chloride solution dissolving. Chemical analyses and application performance of the wool protein powder are reported. Viscosity analysis show that use of hydrogen peroxide and increase the concentration of zinc chloride can increase the solubility of wool. SEM results show that the size of wool protein powder uniform, assumed to the protein molecules reunited in varying degrees. FTIR analyses show that the wool powder have characteristic absorption peak of amide I, amide II and amide III, illustrating the α-helix construction of the prepared wool powder. The bamboo viscose fabrics were treated by wool protein solution. The ultraviolet penetration proportion and ultraviolet protection factor (UPF) of bamboo fabric before and after wool protein solution treatment were tested and the durability was also discussed. The results show that the UV-protective ability of bamboo fabric improved evidently and have a good durability after washing treatment.
