Properties of Wool Pre-treated with Organic Amine
Dyeing process of wool pre-treated with organic amines in the condition of low temperature and the effect of this dyeing method on wool fiber were studied. High temperature may affect the dyeing properties of wool as well as the mechanical properties. The results indicated that breaking strength of pre-treated wool dyed at 80℃ was improved significantly, while uptake and soaping fastness were not as sensitive compared to the conventional process. Different organic amines were selected to pre-treat wool. The results suggested that the properties of wool pre-treated with diethanolamine were better than those of wool pre-treated with ethanolamine or triethanolamine at 60. ℃
