Water-Soluble Polyurethane Modified with Nanocrystalline Cellulose and Its Application to Wool Anti-Felting Finish
Nanocrystalline cellulose (NCC) was prepared with microcrystalline cellulose by hydrolysis with sulfuric acid. The conditions of acid hydrolysis process were discussed by observing and measuring the clarity degree of hydrolyzed solutions and the particle sizes of NCC. The properties of the NCC were analyzed and characterized through FITR, TEM and WXRD. The prepared NCC has a better dispersing property in water-soluble polyurethane (PU) and a NCC/PU solution was prepared for an anti-felting agent. Wool fabric was treated with the NCC/PU. The measuring datum showed the anti-felting effect with NCC/PU was better than that only with PU.
