An Agent Containing New Precursor for Worsted Fabric Anti-felting via a Sol-gel Process
A sol anti-felting agent containing new precursor was applied to the worsted fabric with low curing temperature. The new precursor was prepared by the reaction of polyoxypropylenediamine (D-2000) with γ-isocyanatopropyltriethoxysilane (IPTES) and characterized through FT-IR spectroscopy, in addition, the appearance morphology of the treated fiber observed by SEM. The results indicated that the sol-gel method could endow the samples a better anti-felting effect with low curing temperature at 130 oC and 3 min, the area shrinking rate from 12.85% of the original fabric decrease to 2.96% of the treated samples without strength decreased and handle changed stiff seriously, which accord with the IWS Test Method 31 standard.
