Bleaching of Cotton/wool Blended Yarns with NOBS/H2O2 Activation System
NOBS/H2O2 activation system was applied in low temperature bleaching of cotton/wool blended yarns, and the process conditions, including mole ratio of NOBS to H2O2, pH value, bleaching temperature and bleaching time, were optimized. The results indicated that cotton/wool blended yarns bleached with NOBS activated peroxide system show a comparable cotton whiteness to the conventional bleaching process, with significantly reduced wool tensile strengthen loss and decreased alkali consumption, beneficial to development of high quality textile products and low-carbon economy.
