Influence of 1:2 Acid Metal Complex Dyes on Extractable Chromium of Wool Fabric
Wool fabric was dyed with 1:2 acid metal complex dyes having sulfonyl amine or sulfonic group, using the neutral bath dyeing, the isoelectric point dyeing, and sulfuric acid dyeing, respectively. The extractable chromium contents of samples were measured by plasma emission spectrometry (ICP -AES), according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100 specifications. The results showed that the extractable chromium content of wool fabric could be less than 2ppm. There is a negative correlation between the extractable chromium content on wool fabric and the pH value of dye bath. Structural analysis of metal complex dyes proved indirectly that the results are reasonable.
