Surface Characterization of Polytetrafluoroethylene Films Treated with Atmospheric Pressure Plasma
In this paper, surfaces of PTFE film were modified in air at room temperature with the type of plasma generated by dielectric barrier discharge (DBD). The surface properties of PTFE films before and after the treatments are studied using contact angle and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The result show the DBD plasma treatment can make the contact angle decline from 145° to 125°. SEM analysis shows that the surfaces of the films are etched after the treatment, and the roughness of the PTFE surface is increased.
