Research on Thermal Insulation of Garment Fiber Fill

The thermal insulation of four fiber fill assemblies has been studied in this paper, i.e. wool, acrylic, kapok and goose down. The differences for the thermal insulation and air permeability of these fiber assemblies were compared. It showed that the fiber morphological structures and assembly bulk densities affected the thermal insulation of fiber assemblies. The most important way to improve the thermal insulation of fiber assembly was to control the assembly bulk density, making assembly contain more still air.
