Ornamental Designs Applied to Knitted Wool Sweaters
The knitted sweaters made of wool yarn are no longer for the protection against cold only nowadays due to the social development and the changes in the concept of fashion. The knitted wool sweaters have been called for in more popular colours and versatile styles, silhouettes, textures and patterns. New design ideas especially the ornamental designs despite the traditional ones are required to make the wool sweaters more fashionable and attractive. These ornamental designs are shown in three different aspects in this paper according to the aesthetic ideology. The decorative methods are introduced at first by changing the texture and colours during knitting process. Different materials such as woven or knitted fabrics, fur, silk and etc combination with knitted wool sweaters are introduced secondly. The other decoration skill in this paper is by means of ornaments such as ribbon, lace, buttons, rhinestones and studs, zipper and so on. The decorated wool sweaters would change the original style through the above ornamental designs which make them more fashionable and attractive with prominent characteristics and special styles. The sweaters, as a result, being more competitive, could satisfy the demands of the wider age groups for fashion and popularity.
