Effects of Bra Strap Connected Position onto the Bra Back on Its Wearing Stability
Brassiere performs the important function of breast support and physiological make-up to shape desirable breast. Unsatisfied with the bras wearing stability and comfort, however, majority of the wearers raise frequent complaints that they have encountered embarrassment of bra strap slipping down off shoulders. This paper presents an exploratory study designed to explore how the connected position of bra straps onto the bra back influences both the wearing stability and comfort of the bra strap. Ten young female subjects were involved in the experimental study and were asked to do designated body motions. After each activity finished, movements of the straps on the shoulders would be recorded to evaluate their wearing stability. The connected position closest to the center back showed the best wearing stability in the experiment, while it caused more significant pressure sensibility according to the subject evaluation.
