A Correlation Study among Textile Technology,Traditional Art of Paper Making and Printing Techniques in Ancient China

摘要：

Many processes of textile technology in ancient China, for example retting for bast fibres, bleaching silk with water, dyeing with mineral yellow and so on, were different from other countries. But these processes all promoted the growth and development of paper making and printing in ancient China. In this paper, firstly we hold that the traditional art of paper making derived from textile technology in ancient China because the oldest definition for paper is closely interconnected with textile product. Then, we generalize the textile thought in paper making of ancient China. Thirdly, we discuss the relevance between textile production and printing in ancient China. It is concluded that paper making and printing didnt emerge and develop without textile production in ancient China.
