Relationship between Stretchability and Structure of Fabric Used in Seamless Underwear
The stretchabilities of fabrics, as a quality criterion of seamless underwear, were measured using LK-1 Knitted Fabric Performance Tester and seven samples with different structures were observed in this evaluation. From the stretch-elongation regression models, we found that the stretchability was dominated by the interlace structure. As a result of yarn friction effect, the resilience of interlaced mock-rib is lower than non-interlaced mock-rib. For the non-interlaced mock-rib structure, the tightness of seamless underwear increased with the number of floats, which may give a quantitatively understanding to the underwear designers.
