Structure and Dyeing Properties of Cross-linking Chitosan Fiber with Silanes Coupling Agents
ACSH and GCSH fibers were obtained by surface modification of pure chitosan fiber with the SiO2 nano-particle treated respectively by using 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) and 3-glycidyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTMS) in the non-homogeneous ethanol solution. The structure and morphology of two kinds of cross-linking chitosan fibers were analyzed by FT-IR and SEM. The effects of various parameters, such as dye concentration, dyeing time, pH, and temperature, on the dyeing performance of ACSH and GCSH fibers were also investigated. FT-IR proved that silica coupling agents is of paramount importance for the formation of strong chemical bonds between inorganic nano SiO2 and chitosan fiber. SEM demonstrated the existence of hybrid nanostructure with well-defined nano-units and their aggregates. ACSH fiber had the better dye uptake than that of GCSH fibers for direct Pink 12B. ACSH and GCSH fibers both had good dye uptake with Direct Pink 12B 4% (owf), at 50℃, pH 8, 2 h.
