Application of Offshore Optimized Drilling in Bohai Bay
Bohai Bay is the main market of CPOE drilling service. Bohai Bay faces several situations such as the difficult operation for deep well in the Binhai block in Dagang Oilfield and the slow drilling speed in the basalt formation of Nanpu block in Jidong Oilfield. These problems caused many downhole difficulties, slowed down the drilling speed and increased the drilling cost. According to CNPC s requirement of increasing speed, improving efficiency and enhance comprehensive quality, and based on the analysis of the completed wells and real problems, many off shore rapid drilling technologies were adapted and applied. These include high — pressure jet drilling, high efficiency bit with downhole mud motor, batch drilling, optimized drilling bit and special designed bits for the well. Through these methods, the ROP was increased from 14. 57m/h in 2008 to 16. 02m/h in 2009,and resulted in a considera ble economic benefit.
