Application of Environmental Friendly Sinol -AMO Water -free Oil Based Drilling Fluid(OBM -Oil-Based Mud)

In order to meet the technological requirements of wellbore stabilization and environmental protection on drill ing fluid for troublesome shale formation, the environment friendly Sinol -AMO water -free oil based drilling fluid has been successfully developed. This article briefly introduces the components,formulations, performance parame ters, application effect and the main technical points of the drilling fluid. The results of laboratory tests indicate that the drilling fluid is characterized by a low plastic viscosity,low filtrate loss, strong contamination tolerance, strong inhibitive character, good electrical stability, and good reservoir protection effect. The field applications have been carried out in the Barinas Basin of Venezuela and Well Shen -307 of Liaohe Oilfield, the results indicate that the system has a strong high temperature stability and contamination tolerance, and the drilling fluid also can keep the wellbore stable, improve the ROP, and ensure smooth logging and casing operation.
