High Temperature High Density Water -Based Systems

The article explains the study aspects and thoughts of High Temperature High Density Water -Base Systems (HTHD WBM), and gives comments on the mud materials being used and the evaluating methods of a series of prescriptions selected aiming at encountering drilling operations for Ultra -deep wells. It also analyzes the difficul ty in application of the High Temperature High Density Drilling Fluid Technology. It is stable at a temperature of 173℃, and density of 2. 1 g/cm3, and still retained good rheology and borehole stability. The water based High Density Drilling Fluid Technology was successfully applied in Ultra -deep Well in Moshen -1 in the hinterland of Junggar Basin.
