Research of the Prevention and Remedial Measures of Sustained Casing Pressure in Complicated Gas Wells
As the demand of gas and the updated exploratory techniques increase, more and more deep emplacement and complex gas wells come into the industry. It follows that sustained annular pressure ( SCP) and gas channeling become more serious in these wells. SCP can be caused by several factors. In this paper, we analyze these factors and their features including tubing and casing leakage, poor mud displacement, improper cement system design or damage to cement after setting: Moreover, a summary of prevention and solution for SCP is given. Beside these, advanced technology for SCP used domestically is also presented. In general, for SCP, it is necessary to make proper cement design, to improve the displacement efficiency when cementing and using anti -gas -channeling slurry system.
