Study and Application of Formation Pressure MWD Technology in Daqing Oilfield

Formation pressure, downhole annular pressure and temperature can be accurately measured to calculate for mation mobility while drilling by Formation Pressure MWD Technology. It is an effective method for achieving MPD( managed pressure drilling) and geologic reservoir evaluation. This article describes the study and application of Formation Pressure MWD Technology in Daqing oilfield. Through studying measurement theory, survey instru ments, survey process and survey data, the first sample was manufactured by the end of 2009, by which formation pressure, annular pressure and temperature while drilling can be measured. The survey data can be transmitted to the surface by drilling fluid pulse. At present, six experiment wells were drilled in the Daqing oilfield and applica tions of the new tool had provided great advantages.
