Research and Application of Cementing Techniques for Deep and Super -deep Wells in The Fergana Basin of Uzbekistan

The reservoir in the Fergana Basin had features of deep, high pressure, high acid gas contents, supersalinity and high production. Because of that, the cementing jobs faced severe challenges such as large size casing at upper hole, long cementing segment, large temperature difference and small annular clearance with high pressure at the condition of high density drilling fluid. All of these difficulties have been solved through a series of research: cementing technique for long cementing segment and large temperature differences, high density salt — resistant spacer, high density salt -resistant anti -channeling cement slurry, corresponding technology for improving cementing quality of long cementing segments, cementing technology for deep and super — deep wells and others. These technologies have been successfully applied in Jida -3, Jida -4 and South Gumhana — 1. The cementing technologies achieved will provide technical guarantee for cementing jobs in the Fergana Basin and have broad prospects for application. In the Fergana Basin hydrocarbon resource is abundant It contains three structural belts: Karajida, Gumhana and Mingbulak. The area of the Fergana Basin which lies across three countries is about 38 thou sand square kilometers and among this area there are 17 thousand square kilometers that lie in Uzbekistan. The potential exploration of the basin mainly contains a new folded downwarping region and a side deep zone. The Karajida structural belt is at the uplift zone of middle sagging. The main formations of interest are located at the lower part of N1 and the upper part of E. Jida -3 and Jida -4 are located at the Karajida structural belt.
