A Dual-side Comparison Method of Online Fault Monitoring for Railway Signal Cable
Railway signal cable plays an important role to ensure trains operating safe. The failure of railway signal cable has a serious effect on safety of train operation. As a result of characteristics of cable laying itself, the traditional methods of fault detection of railway signal cable has great limits to its application. Therefore, the fixed resistors can be connected into spare wire pairs in the cable junction box along lines, which has formed a closed loop of circuit network. Thus, By applying different voltages at dual-side of circuit to comparison the loop resistance, the status of cable can be reflected by the change of resistance in the loop and the spare wire pairs can be used to monitor the online fault of railway signal cable instead of occupying wire pairs. After practical test, the online monitoring and positioning of fault of railway signal cable about breaking has been solved effectively.
