A THz Bandpass Filter Based on Parallel Plate Dielectric Waveguide

In this paper, the transmission characteristics of Parallel-Plate Dielectric Waveguide (PPDW) at 0.2-0.8 THz (lTHz=1012Hz) are studied, which shows that PPDW is a promising candidate for Thz transmission medium for guiding THz wave with little loss and distortion. Then, a 3-pole PPDW bandpass filter at THz frequency band is designed. The center frequency is 500 GHz and the bandwidth is 16%. And the insertion loss is less than 1.5 dB and the return loss is more than 16 dB in the pass band from 460GHz to 540GHz, which may have wide potential application in the terahertz systems.
