The Study on the Regulator and Security of Financial Services
This present study builds on their 2009 global security survey in the financial services industry to provide a layer of understanding not found in the survey by examining the possible relationships between regulatory and transparency contexts and security concerns. The data analysis found significant statistical relations between some of the studys variables;it appears that respondents in GFSI across the world assess security and privacy issues differently. This information is at variance with the views in the industry suggesting that entities in the GFSI comply with comparable standards and practices. This study showed that there are marked variations in how security and privacy issues are perceived across GFSI when differing regulatory and transparency environments are considered.Corporate managers in the industry may benefit from this studys information and discussions as they formulate region-and country-wide security and privacy policies. It is not suggested that the findings presented herein represent the final word in the area.
