DEVELOPMENT OF A METHOD FOR MOTION ANALYSIS BY IMAGE PROCESSING: DETECTION METHOD OF ROTATION ANGLE CORRESPONDING TO DEGREE OF FREEDOM OF BODY JOINT

This paper deals with proposed the extraction method of the pattern installed in the body to measure the position and the rotation angle of the body joint by image processing. The pattern is designed by one segment in a vertical direction to the axial direction of the body and eight segments in a parallel direction. The position of the body is measured at the position of the center of gravity of these segments. Eight parallel segments are arranged at the same intervals on the circumference of the body. The rotation angle of the body joint is calculated by using three parallel segments at least seen from these segments on the circumference. The movement of the arm could be measured by using the proposal method from sequential images of work to make for Beijing Opera by installing the pattern in the body.
