THE IMPROVEMENT OF EARNED VALUE METHOD BASED ON THE INTEGRATED CONTROL OF FOUR ELEMENTS

The four major objectives of construction project namely cost, schedule, quality and safety have formed the objective system of construction project, and they are also the focus of the project control. The traditional analysis method of Earned Value only controls and analyzes the deviation in the aspects of cost and schedule, which has shortcomings in the practical applications. This paper is based on the discussion of the basic principle of the traditional analysis method of Earned Value, and points out the shortcomings of this method. And then we proposed that the factors of quality and safety should be introduced into this method, and thus to form an improved analysis method of Earned Value which can control the four elements cost, schedule, quality and safety in construction project systematically and synthetically.
