CO-EVOLUTION OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION: A CASE STUDY OF WANDONG MEDICAL EQUIPMENT COMPANY IN CHINA
How Chinese medical equipment companies could innovate itself while competing with multinational companies is a meaningful topic for research of catch-up. Through a case study of Wandong medical equipment company, this article argues that the co-evolution of management and technological innovation is crucial for success. Three main management innovations are identified, including restructuring mechanism of resource allocation, renewing talent management, and cultivating cooperation with research institutions. Further more, this article highlights the combination of self-driven innovation and external R&D network in catch-up.
