STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF PROCESS MONITORING DATA FOR PRODUCT QUALITY IMPROVEMENT AND ITS APPLICATION TO SOFTWARE RELIABILITY ASSESSMENT

Software product quality is realized in the development process. In order to improve software product quality, a project management which controls/manages the development process and predicts the progress of the software project is very important. In this paper, firstly, we conduct multivariate linear analyses by using process monitoring data, derive effective process factors affecting the final products quality, and discuss the significant process factors with respect to software management measures of QCD. Then, we discuss project management on the significant process factors affecting the QCD measures, and show their effect on them. Secondly, we analyze process monitoring data in a viewpoint of software reliability measurement and assessment. Also, we discuss the actual application of the methods of software reliability measurement and assessment in the process monitoring activities.
