PAD: A PROTOCOL-BASED APPROACH FOR DYNAMIC OPTIMIZATION OF COMPOSITE SERVICE

Service composition has been accepted as a promising technique for developing business applications especially for those across multiple organizations. However, the adaptability of composite service is difficult to be guaranteed due to the distributed, dynamic and autonomous characteristics of component services. In this paper, we address this problem by proposing a novel approachPAD (Protocol-based Approach for Dynamic Optimization of Composite Service). We initially propose a protocol-based service composition system architecture supporting dynamic optimization of composite service. Then, we design dynamic optimization mechanisms based on the protocols and policies. Furthermore, we design algorithms to adjust the configuration adaptively while requirements change. Finally we implement the PAD approach based on XService suit and evaluate the proposed mechanism with comprehensive experiments.
