CLIMATE CHANGE AND EMISSION MITIGATION OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION IN CHINA
The analysis of climate change is confronted with industrialization that needs to be taken into account to arrive at meaningful policy recommendations. Industrialist often claim that, by rendering firms unprofitable and hence forcing them out of business, stricter emission standards reduce the industry output and competition. The main contribution of economics to this interdisciplinary task is to provide formal frameworks and techniques for analysing climate policy in the context of emission mitigation of industrial production. This paper will give an overview of sustainable development and to provide a broad picture of what suggestions can contribute to the debate.
