METHODS OF KANSEI/AFFECTIVE ENGINEERING AND EXAMPLES OF KANSEI PRODUCTS

Kansei/Affective Engineering was founded by Mitsuo Nagamachi at Hiroshima University in 1970 and it has spread out over the world now. It aims to develop a new product based on human-oriented and emotion-oriented approach to human feeling (kansei) and we have developed more than 40 new innovative products so far. There are several methods to reach the final conclusion of kansei design and soft computing system of Knowledge Engineering, Neural Networks Model, Fuzzy Logic, Genetic Algorithm and others are applicable to Kansei/Affective Engineering for customer selection of design and/or designers decision.
