DETERMINATION METHOD FOR COMPLETION OF FEEDING SOLDERING PASTE USING IMAGE PROCESSING

In this study, the image processing method for the soldering robot system was developed in order to determine a completion of a feeding soldering paste. Soldering fume is caused to scatter a melted soldering flux while soldering. Soldering fume obstruct to get a clear image of a soldering point. The influence of soldering fume was found be reduced under the light of long wavelengths. Difference image by an image processing shows only the changed domain in brightness value between 2 different time images. This domain is mainly the edge of solder shape. The proposed method superimposes all difference images from the beginning of soldering. The superimposed image is the evaluation image for a completion of a feeding soldering paste. The proposed method was built into the soldering robot system, and the completion of the soldering work was determined. As a result, the inspector in the company checked up the shape of solder and judged it of good quality.
