DRUG RELEASE FROM BIODEGRADABLE POLYESTERURETHANES WITH SHAPE-MEMORY EFFECT
Biodegradable polyesterurethane (PU) networks with shape memory properties have been synthesized and used as controlled release matrix for the model drug dexamethasone (DEX) in phosphate buffered saline pH = 7.0 at 37°C. The drug release courses of DEX could be divided into three stages as a typical erosion-controlled release mechanism. The crosslinking density of PU networks affected both degradation of the polymer networks and drug release rate.
