TAILORING THE PLATMC CHAIN MICROSTRUCTURE FOR STABLE CYCLOSPORINE A RELEASE

Tailoring the chain microstructure of poly(lactide-co-trimethylenecarbonate) (PLATMC) lead up to obtain copolymer with 74:26 comonomer molar ratio and specific chain microstructure (randomization coefficient R=0.7). The copolymer was used to form matrices containing cyclosporine A (CyA). Regular degradation was determined, which caused also uniform CyA release profile. The PLATMC 74:26 (R=0.7) matrices with CyA may have high potential in development of drug eluting stents and other surgical devices with shape memory properties; anti-restenotic stent coating or implants used after organ transplantation.
