FORMATION OF CONCENTRIC MULTI-LAYER CHITOSAN HYDROGEL LOADED WITH ISONIAZID
A novel chitosan hydrogel with concentric multi-layers is constructed by a reaction-diffusion system, and isoniazid is used to investigate its application in drug upload and release. The results show that concentric multi-layers can be obtained when the flocculation of the OH-concentration is realized by periodically immersing in water bath. The structure of concentric multi-layer chitosan favors to absorb the drug solution and the maximum loading efficiency of isoniazid is 14.60±1.59%. The isoniazid release kinetics obey the diffusion-erosion model.
