FUNCTIONALIZED DEXTRAN-COATED LIPOSOMES FOR DOXORUBICIN LOADING
Functionalized dextran coated-liposomes (FD-LIPs) consisting of unsaturated alkyl hydrophobic moieties and targeting parts were prepared. The experimental results showed that the existence of dextran on the nanoparticles obviously decreases the protein adsorption, and provides for further attachment of targeting ligands. FD-LIPs are of narrow distribution with 110 nm in diameter. In addition, FD-LIPs showed a high doxorubicin loading efficiency of 98% and a sustained release of doxorubicin in comparison with the uncoated drug-loaded liposomes in vitro.
