THE SYNERGISTIC EFFECT OF HERCEPTIN AND DOCETAXEL IN POLYLACTIDE-D-α-TOCOPHERYL POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL SUCCINATE (PLA-TPGS) NANOPARTICLES

This work investigated and presented the synergistic effect of Herceptin and docetaxel in PLA-TPGS nanoparticles (NPs) which are effective vehicles of docetaxel delivery. The anticancer effect of docetaxel was amplified in the NPs with Herceptin which also induces targeted delivery of docetaxel. In vitro cytotoxicity studies were conducted on SK.-BR-3 human breast cancer cells to demonstrate the synergistic effect of Herceptin and docetaxel. The essential docetaxel concentration can be reduced to even 100-fold with the combination of Herceptin.
