pH-RESPONSIVE POLYMERIC-CARGO ENCAPSULATED MAGNETIC NANOPARTICLES FOR SELECTIVE RELEASE AND IMAGING
A novel water-soluble, pH-responsive copolymer was successfully synthesized and used as polymeric-cargo to deliver hydrophobic paramagnetic nanoparticles into cells. The as-synthesized amphiphilic copolymer nano-cargo has excellent biocompatibility and degradation properties. The hydrophobic side-chain of the copolymer can insert into oleic acid with the hydrophilic part on the surface to form water-soluble nanocomposites. Furthermore, this composite can also easily load hydrophobic drugs via hydrophobic interaction. Due to the degradation process of the polymer shell under weak acidic condition, the polymeric-cargo can unpack magnetic nanoparticles and drugs, resulting in MRI signal switching and drug release, respectively. Our approach can achieve outstanding dual functions, tumor diagnosis and therapy.
