THERMOSENSITTVE, BIOCOMPATIBLE AND ANTIFOULING NANOGELS PREPARED VIA AQUEOUS RAFT DISPERSION POLYMERIZATION FOR TARGETED DRUG DELIVERY
Smart and biocompatible nanogels prepared via aqueous dispersion polymerization have significant advantages in nanomedicine. Herein, a RAFT-mediated dispersion polymerization approach was developed for the preparation of novel type of core-shell nanogels mainly composed of polymeric or oligomeric ethylene glycol. Macromolecular chain transfer agents (Macro-CTA) based on linear PEG and brush-type poly(oligo(ethylene glycol methacrylate)) (pOEGMA) were use for the dispersion (co)polymerization of OEGMA. These nanogels with narrow size distribution exhibited tunable LCST, nontoxicity and excellent colloidal stability in the presence of high concentrations of NaCl (1.5 M), BSA (1%) and serum (100%), rendering these nanogels promising candidates for drug delivery applications.
