COMPOSITE MICELLES CONSISTING OF PACLITAXEL-AND FOLIC ACID-CARRYING COPOLYMERS FOR TREATMENT OF LEWIS LUNG CANCER
Paclitaxel (PTX)-conjugated copolymer, poly(ethylene glycol)-b-poly(L-lactide-co-2-methyl-2-carboxyl-propylene carbonate/PTX), and folk acid (FA)-conjugated copolymer, poly(ethylene glycol)-b-poly(L-lactide-co-2,2-dihydroxylmethyl-propylene carbonate/FA), have been synthesized and used for preparing composite micelles. Dual agent micelles have a spherical shape and an average diameter of about 58 nm. In vivo studies in a mouse model of Lewis lung cancer demonstrated a better therapeutic efficacy of composite micelles delivering both drug agent -PTX and targeting agent -FA than micelles only delivering PTX.
