PREPARATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF POLY(VINYL ALCOHOL) HYDROGEL BASED THREE-DIMENSIONAL DOSIMETER FOR RADIOTHERAPY
The feasibility of poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) hydrogel for the use of three-dimensional dose determination for radiotherapy was studied. The hydrogel three-dimensional dosimeter was prepared by mixing the Fricke solution and PVA, and glutaraldehyde was used as the crosslinker. The Fricke-(PVA-glutaraldehyde)-xylenol orange (FPGX) dosimeter sample was irradiated by using a medical electron accelerator. The dose distribution was evaluated by recording the change of the absorbance of the dosimeter before and after the irradiation.
