FORMALDEHYDE SENSOR BASED ON POLYPYRROLE/β-CYCLODEXTRIN
Conductive polypyrrole (PPy) microsphere composites with β-cyclodextrin as the core were prepared by chemical oxidation polymerization of pyrrole. As a sensor material to test formaldehyde releasing from textile fabrics, it was found the resistance of the composites decreases linearly with increasing formaldehyde concentration. High stability and good repeatability were observed. The low price and easy fabrication of the sensor make it a perfect candidate to be applied in the textile industry.
